In 2002 I worked in Russia on the Opera Buffo Le Nozze di Figaro by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. This production was conceived in a Russian and Dutch collaboration between Eurostage and the State-opera of Tatarstan in Kazan.
For this piece I designed the costumes.
The production was directed by David Prins and conducted by Vincent de Kort.
Misjel Vermeieren designed the sets and the lighting design was by Ace McCarron.

The whole costume design, including shoe design was in black&white and additional reds. Fabric prints were inspired on designs by Sonia Delaunay (1930s) hand by my assistant Larissa Smirnova.
This production premiered on the 1st of February 2002 in the Tartastan State-Opera House in Kazan, Russia and also toured in The Netherlands
